I am the co-founder of Concentus Wealth Advisors and currently serve as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Growing up the son of a stockbroker, I always had a fascination with Wall Street, and I knew from a young age that I wanted a career in finance. My childhood was strongly influenced by the story of how my dad used his career in finance to help families. He built his career on the foundation of an innovative college planning system he invented, which made a huge impact for people who were facing the daunting challenge of paying to educate their kids. I always remember admiring him so much for finding a way to make a great living while helping people and making a difference in their lives. Concentus is built on the foundation of serving many of those clients still today, and I am proud of the impact we have made on multiple generations of so many families.
After graduating from Amherst in 1991, I took a year to relax as a ski bum in Vail, Colorado, where I had an amazing time working as a ski instructor. After that year flew by, it was time to come back home and enter the “real world.”
After a short stint at a great firm called Rittenhouse Capital Management, my dad called me into his study one Sunday afternoon to talk about my future. He explained to me that he had a vision of expanding his wealth management practice. He wanted to build a team to enhance his technical wealth planning capabilities and deliver a more comprehensive and holistic offering to his clients. And, he wanted me to join him to lead this effort.
I can still remember the feeling of pride and excitement that I was going to get to work with my dad, and in the noble profession of helping people to achieve all of their most important financial life goals. I immediately agreed, resigned from Rittenhouse, and we started our work together to build an exceptional wealth management firm.
Over the next 20 years, we worked hard on our vision, while working for two different Wall Street brokerage firms. While we had a lot of success over those years, I always felt we could do more for our clients. I came to believe that the model for the delivery of financial advice on Wall Street was broken. There were too many conflicts of interest, a lack of transparency, and not enough client-centered advice.
So, in 2014 we left the big bank world to create Concentus Wealth Advisors to change all of that.
Every day since, I have worked hard to build a firm that acts as a true fiduciary for our clients, placing the best interests of the families we serve above everything else. I am dedicated to building a company of amazing and committed people who all share the same vision: to transform the financial services industry to help the people we serve to achieve their financial goals and actualize their most deeply held values.
Along the way, I hope to make a positive impact on the world and on the people around me.
